SIZE:
Shane has excellent size for a 2021 Dual Threat QB at 6'0" 195 lbs. This QB can hurt you in many different ways. He works well within the pocket but can also take it to the outside if needed. Throws with a high release point and extended arm motion for a higher ball delivery.
ACCURACY:
He’s right on target with his delivery, throws made in-line with his receivers. Very consistent throwing motion and footwork prior to setup. Would like to see his deep passes made with a tighter trajectory, less air underneath.
ARM STRENGTH:
A strong throwing QB who can make all passes required of him. His short and intermediate passes include high velocity throws that get through the secondary in a hurry. Very good vertical passing game, able to extend the field with his arm strength.
RELEASE:
He throws with an over the top delivery that is held three-quarters back, able to get the ball out in a hurry. Very good footwork on his drop backs, well balanced while setting up.
THROW ON RUN:
Shane does a nice job getting to the outside of the pocket as he remains focused downfield for potential targets. His throws include strong forward momentum as he fires the ball in the direction of his target.
FOOTWORK:
He works well around the backfield, with good mobility and agility. As a Dual Threat QB, he's able to get through the secondary with good speed and toughness. Solid footwork on his drop backs and set ups.
POISE:
A proven winner, winning the Div-2 State Championship. Shane displays good control of his offensive unit. Confident in his abilities as a QB, not afraid to be aggressive with his throws.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Shows good patience in the backfield, able to sit back and wait for the play to develop. He shows good awareness of the space around him.
DECISION MAKING:
Shane's a very intelligent QB who makes the right call based on the defensive scheme. Able to work through his receiver options, processing the information quickly.
TOUCH:
This is an area in which Shane can work to improve on. He's a strong throwing QB who can ease off the velocity of his throws for a softer release, especially at the short and intermediate range.
