Scouting Report

SIZE:
Hunter has very good size for a 2020 Pro Style QB at 6’2” 205 lbs. He’s able to survey the field from the backfield, with a tall platform. Shows good patience in the pocket, able to wait for the play to develop. A hard throwing QB who can hit in all areas. Throws with a high release point, giving his throws added height. Should be able to add bulk to his frame over the next couple years.
ACCURACY:
This QB is almost always right on the mark when given the time and space to set up. Very good at picking up the timing and anticipation of his receivers routes. Strong forward momentum on his release while on the go.
ARM STRENGTH:
This QB is a legit strong-armed passer. Able to turn it up with increased acceleration throughout his delivery. His throws are made with increased velocity, getting to his receivers in a hurry.
RELEASE:
Throws with a fully extended arm motion which comes out from over the top. A high release point, giving his passes added height. Very good throwing mechanics, which are consistent on every delivery.
THROW ON RUN
Hunter is most comfortable within the pocket but can also get to the outside with good speed and balance. Good quickness to the outside with focus downfield. He maintains the same consistency and velocity on his throws outside the pocket.
FOOTWORK:
Shows good footwork on his drop backs and set ups. Would like to see more quickness in step and mobility within the pocket.
POISE:
Very calm demeanor within the pocket as he works to assess the defensive coverage. He doesn’t let the outside noise take his away from his game.
POCKET PRESENCE:
This is where Hunter works at his best. He’s calm under pressure, while showing very good consistency on his throws and good vision downfield.
DECISION MAKING:
Hunter does a nice job working through his progressions. He uses every option available to him as he goes from his primary to secondary outlets.
TOUCH:
Very good touch on his throws that are made within zone coverage and well as on the deeper routes. He does a nice job adjusting the velocity of his throws.
