Baum has excellent size for a 2027 Dual Threat QB at 6’1" 170 lbs. Plays well above the level of competition. A strong running QB who displays bursts of speed. Works fluidly from a pocket passer to a running QB. A fierce competitor who plays both sides of the field. A playmaker on the field. Strong delivery.
ACCURACY:
When given the time and space to to set up, Baum is very accurate. He nails it at the short and intermediate range with sharp precision passing. His deep passes include tight trajectory.
ARM STRENGTH:
Has many weapons in his arsenal. He’s able to fire in high velocity throws within tight windows of space or he can ease up for a softer delivery. Generates momentum with full extension, giving his throws longer range.
THROW ON RUN:
Very good mobility getting to the outside of the pocket. A quick first step and along his long stride, can get there in a hurry. Excellent vision downfield. Squares up nicely with his receivers.
FOOTWORK:
A very athletic QB with his size can result in a very deadly combination. Displays quickness along with increased speed while on the run, picking up chunks of yardage.
POISE:
Very confident in his ability to lead his team downfield. Can take over a game at any moment. He's dominated defenses with his athletic skills, scoring 50 TDs last season.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very good agility within the pocket. A good sense of the space around him with the ability to avoid traffic and improvise while on the run.
DECISION MAKING:
An intelligent QB who understands the game. Very good at locating open receivers downfield.
TOUCH:
A strong throwing QB who will continue to work on easing off velocity for a softer delivery. Throws made downfield with tight trajectory.
