Scouting Report

SIZE:
Blaine has excellent size for a 2020 Dual Threat QB at 6’3” 200 lbs. He throws with a tall platform, full extension and high release point. A strong running QB who shows good upper and lower body strength, not easily able to be taken down. A very durable QB, who shows good patience as he waits for the play to develop.
ACCURACY:
Right on the mark with his throws downfield. The consistency of his arm motion increases his ability to make sharp precision throws. Good timing and anticipation of his receivers routes.
ARM STRENGTH:
Blaine gets the ball out in a hurry, generating increased momentum upon release. His throws at the short and intermediate range are made with high velocity. Good range along with having a vertical passing game.
RELEASE:
Very good throwing mechanics, able to maintain the same throwing motion on every pass play. He throws with an over the top delivery that comes from way back. Demonstrates proper footwork on drop backs and set ups.
THROW ON RUN:
Blaine serves as a Dual Threat QB, able to get the outside in a hurry with good athleticism. He sets up nicely towards his receiver, as he rotates his body while on the go.
FOOTWORK:
He’s very mobile, especially out in the open field, showing good elusiveness and toughness. He’s got a quick first step, able to make his cuts to evade would be tacklers.
POISE:
Spent the past few years perfecting his craft and it shows on the field. A very confident passer who trusts in his abilities as a QB. Shows good awareness of the pass rush, able to avoid the incoming traffic.
POCKET PRESENCE:
He’s very comfortable within the pocket, able to work within or rolling out when needed.
DECISION MAKING:
This is a strong area for Blaine, he’s a very intelligent QB who has a good read on the defense. He can work all sides of the field, showing good vision and judgment.
TOUCH:
This is another area of strength for Blaine. He’s able to add a soft touch on his releases, finding their way in between zone coverage or over the top. Very good trajectory on his deep passes, with just enough air.
