SIZE:
Brett has excellent size for a 2023 Pro Style QB at 6’2” 205 lbs. Throws with a tall platform, showing very good vision downfield. Has an over the top delivery which adds height to his throws.
ACCURACY:
His throwing mechanics are sound and consistent. Able to square up as he pivots in the direction of his receivers prior to delivery. His timing and anticipation of his receivers routes help to up his accuracy with good ball placement.
ARM STRENGTH:
Brett's has a strong vertical passing game, extending the field with his bombs downfield. He can also get the ball out to his receivers at short and intermediate in a hurry.
RELEASE:
A over the top delivery with a fully extended arm motion that comes across quickly. High release point for added height to his throws.
THROW ON RUN:
Brett’s an athletic QB. For a player of his size, he does a nice job getting to the outside with good quickness and footwork. Shows good rotation of the body as he lines up with his receivers.
FOOTWORK:
He’s most comfortable as a pocket passer but also shows good athleticism rolling to the outside. Nice footwork on his drop backs, with balanced stride.
POISE:
He played last season as the starting varsity QB, giving him greater confidence in his abilities. He’s a proven leader and a true competitor on the field.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Good awareness of the space around him, able to pick up on defensive pressure with the ability to step up in the pocket or move laterally.
DECISION MAKING:
His throws are made with good judgment, delivering quick strikes, allowing the defense minimal time to react.
TOUCH:
An area of major strength for Brett is his ability to create a softer release when needed. Getting the ball over zone coverage or laying it out on a bubble screen. Very good trajectory on his deep passes.
