SIZE:
Carson has good size for a 2022 Pro Style QB at 6’2” 185 lbs. This QB works very methodically while attacking the defense. Quick reads, connecting with his initial targets .
ACCURACY:
Carson throws a perfect touch pass, able to hit in all areas of the field. He throws a very catchable ball, made with a tight spiral. Shows good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes.
ARM STRENGTH:
He can hit his receivers in all areas of the field, showing good strength in arm. Strong delivery at the short and intermediate range and throws made with tight trajectory vertically down the field.
RELEASE:
Carson is a left handed passer, working with an over the top, fully extended arm motion. He gets set up in a hurry with excellent footing.
THROW ON RUN:
An athletic QB who shows good quickness getting to the outside in a hurry. Squares up with his target and releases the ball with strong forward momentum.
FOOTWORK:
Solid footwork on his dropbacks as well as prior to setups. Good speed and quickness out in the open field with some elusiveness.
POISE
Carson demonstrates the ability to lead his team downfield with a strong desire to compete. Has led his team to a state championship game. Selected as 1st Team All-State 2A.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Picks up on defensive pressure while making space for himself within the pocket. Able to step up in the pocket, or roll to either side as he surveys the field for potential targets.
DECISION MAKING:
Carson shows good patience as he waits for the play to develop. He’s able to pick apart a defense with throws made in between zone coverage.
TOUCH:
This is a major area of strength for Carson. He’s able to make plays within the secondary that are made with a soft release and good trajectory. Has a knack for finding gaps within coverage.
