Scouting Report

SIZE:
Carson has good size for a 2023 Dual Threat QB at 5'10" 164 lbs. He’s a strong running QB who takes on would be tacklers. Difficult to take down in the backfield, very good lower body strength.
ACCURACY:
He does a nice job getting the ball to his receivers. His throws are on target with good placement, allowing for the receiver to make a play on it.
ARM STRENGTH::
Carson can hit in any area on the field. His passes are make with good velocity at short and intermediate range. Will be able to increase distance with a fully extended arm motion.
RELEASE:
Carson throws the ball with an over the top delivery and a high release point. Able to give added height on his throws. Works with a three quarter extension, getting the ball out in a hurry.
THROW ON RUN:
Good quickness getting to the outside, while still maintaining his focus downfield. Would like to see him extend his path further away from the pocket.
FOOTWORK:
Above average speed with good elusiveness and mobility. He can work to improve on his footwork with the pocket, creating a more fluid motion.
POISE:
Very confident QB who can work between a Pocket Passer and Dual Threat quite easily. He’s comfortable in either role.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Good agility within the pocket, able to break away from pressure. I would like to see more patience as he waits for the play to develop.
DECISION MAKING:
Carson does a nice job picking up on his initial targets. With more game experience, he'll pick up on going through his progressions.
TOUCH:
This is an area of strength for Carson. He's able to ease off the velocity of his throws, adding a softer delivery. Getting the ball in between zone coverage.
