SIZE:
Carter has very good size for a 2024 Dual Threat QB at 6'3" 185 lbs. He throws with a high release point, giving the ball adding lift. He sits in the pocket with a tall platform, able to see the entire field.
ACCURACY:
Able to make throws in-line with his receivers. Showing good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes with good ball placement. Balanced base prior to set up.
ARM STRENGTH:
Displays good arm strength on his short and intermediate throws. A very quick release which allows for added velocity. Solid vertical passing game, able to get the ball up and over coverage.
RELEASE:
Very good throwing mechanics which is consistent and fluid. An over the top delivery with full arm extension.
THROW ON RUN:
Carter displays good lateral movement. Increased acceleration upon release, able to square up with his target.
FOOTWORK:
A quick first step right out of the box. A long stride runner who can get from place to place in a hurry. He shows solid footwork on his dropbacks, with good spacing.
POISE:
Good awareness of defensive pressure. Shows good patience in the pocket as he waits for them to break on their routes.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Carter does a nice job avoiding the rush, able to create space for himself. Doesn't let the noise around him affect his play, remains focused.
DECISION MAKING:
Does a good job seeking out opportunities downfield while working through his progressions. Shows good instincts, making plays with decisive throws.
TOUCH:
He does a nice job adjusting the velocity of his throws, creating for a softer throw when needed.
