SIZE:
Chubba has excellent size for a 2020 Dual Threat QB at 6’3” 197 lbs. Works from the shot gun formation, ready to blow out the box. Excellent mobility within the pocket, able to draw the defense in with his play action set. Tough running QB with breakaway speed.
ACCURACY:
His throws include perfect trajectory, getting the ball to receivers in a hurry. He puts it in for his receivers to make a play on it, with good ball location. Picks up on his receivers with good anticipation and timing of their routes. Doesn't lose much in accuracy, while on the run.
ARM STRENGTH:
Chubba makes his throws seem so effortless. Very good arm strength on deep patterns and high velocity throws at the short and intermediate range. Gets the ball to his receivers in a hurry.
RELEASE:
Chubba throws the ball with an over the top delivery and a fully extended arm motion. The ball gets out in a hurry with increased acceleration throughout his follow through. Very good footwork prior to his set up.
THROW ON RUN:
This is where he's at his best. Excellent vision down field with the ability to locate a potential target. A pure Dual Threat who can turn it up at any moment.
FOOTWORK:
Chubba displays excellent mobility within the pocket, moving quickly to avoid traffic while creating space for himself. Quick footed with proper feet placement prior to delivery.
POISE:
He works well within his offensive unit, using all of his receivers. Shows very good patience in the pocket while waiting for a play to develop.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Chubba has a great feel for defensive pressure and reacts quickly while maintaining his focus on the play.
DECISION MAKING:
He’s a rhythmic passer, working quickly out of the set, with play action and quick hitters. Does a great job selling the play, then delivering a strike into the secondary. I was very impressed in his ability to work through his progressions.
TOUCH:
Able to make the right adjustments on the angle and delivery of his passes at the short and intermediate range. Solid trajectory on his deep passes.
