Clay has good size for a 2025 Pro Style QB at 6'1" 180 lbs. Displays the ability to clear himself traffic, creating additional passing lanes for himself. Excellent vision downfield, while picking apart the defense.
ACCURACY:
Throws with precision and timing. Able to hit his receivers while in stride. Fundamental sound throwing mechanics, along with consistency.
ARM STRENGTH:
High velocity throws, hitting his targets with darts sprayed over the middle. He can hit all areas of the field with very good range.
RELEASE:
Has an over the top delivery with a fully extended arm motion. Very good work getting his feet proper set before delivery.
THROW ON RUN:
Clay's a pure pocket passer who displays good quickness to the outside while on the run. Very fluid with his movement, allowing for an efficient stride. He’s deadly while in motion, displaying strong forward momentum on his release.
FOOTWORK:
Good agility in and around the pocket. Precise footing and spacing on his dropbacks.
POISE:
He’s not easily distracted by the noise around him. Very polished and comfortable while in the pocket. He’s a leader who remains calm under pressure.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very good patience while executing the plays. Nice work picking up on defense pressure.This is where Clay excels. Very focused while going through his progressions. Able to check down from one target option to another.
TOUCH:
A strong passer who makes the proper adjustments on the velocity of his throws to add a softer touch.
