Scouting Report

SIZE:
Colby has good size size for a 2020 Dual Threat QB at 5'10" 198 lbs. He’s a strong running QB who takes on would be tacklers for added yardage. Difficult to take down in the backfield, very good lower body strength. Plays both sides of the field, serves as a ferocious Strong Safety with excellent instincts and toughness.
ACCURACY:
He does a nice job getting the ball to his receivers. His throws are on target with good placement, allowing for the receiver to make a play on it. He’s extremely sharp over the middle on crossing patterns. Works best while on the run.
ARM STRENGTH::
Colby can make any throw on the field. His passes are made of high velocity, able to thread the needle and squeeze within tight windows of space.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with a high release point. Colb's is able to generate strong momentum on his follow through, for added acceleration.
THROW ON RUN:
He’s a very talented athlete with quickness getting to the outside, while still maintaining his focus downfield. This is where Colby can be deadly on the field, he can light you up in the air or take it in for a huge gain on the run.
FOOTWORK:
Colby's a proven Dual Threat, able to get inside the secondary on his runs, while displaying breakaway speed and elusiveness. Very good footwork on his drop backs and shows good balance and stride prior to set up.
POISE:
Very confident QB who can work from a Pocket Passer to a Dual Threat quite easily. He’s comfortable in either role.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Good agility within the pocket, able to break away from pressure. I would like to see him stay in the pocket longer as he waits for the play to develop.
DECISION MAKING:
Colby does a nice job picking up on his best option receiver. He does an excellent job working through his progressions, going to his secondary outlets if needed.
TOUCH:
This is an area of strength for Colby. Not only does he have a strong arm, he’s also able to ease off on it, for a softer delivery when the situation calls for it.
