SIZE:
Cooper has very good size for a 2023 Pro Style QB at 6’1” 190 lbs. He stands in the pocket with a tall platform, able to oversee the entire field. He throws with a full extension, giving the ball added height.
ACCURACY:
When given the space and time, this QB's accuracy goes way up. Shows good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes. Sound throwing mechanics that occur in a consistent manner.
ARM STRENGTH:
He can attack a defense in many ways, whether it comes from a quick strike over the middle or a deep vertical throw. Sharp throws made at long range with tight trajectory.
RELEASE:
This is an area of strength for Cooper. He’s fundamentally sound. An over the top delivery with a full arm extension. Very good foot placement and stride on his set up.
THROW ON RUN:
Most comfortable within the pocket but can work to the outside with good mobility. Squares up with good body rotation. Doesn’t lose much in accuracy while on the run.
FOOTWORK:
Not considered a Dual Threat QB but can pick up yardage for short gains if needed. Displays very good footwork on his drop backs and set ups.
POISE:
Good awareness of defensive pressure, able to step up or move laterally for added space. Very calm under pressure, stays focused on the play as he works through it.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Able to survey the field for potential targets. Very good patience in the pocket, waiting for a play to fully develop.
DECISION MAKING:
He works methodically as he picks apart a defense. Many weapons in his arsenal as he works through his progressions. Seeks out high percentage opportunities downfield.
TOUCH:
His throws are made with a soft touch, able to adjust the velocity of his throws in certain passing situation.
