Scouting Report

SIZE:
Cooper has excellent size for a 2021 Dual Threat QB at 6’4” 190 lbs. He’s a tall presence in the pocket, able to oversee the entire field for possible targets. Strong confidence in his abilities on the field, Very good mobility for a QB of his size, able to avoid pressure.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers with excellent ball location, away from defenders. Shows very good timing and anticipation of his receivers routes.
ARM STRENGTH:
Cooper's throws are made with high velocity, getting to his receivers in a hurry. Demonstrates the ability to extend the field with his vertical passing game.
RELEASE:
Throws with an over the top delivery and a fully extended arm motion. Solid footwork prior to set up.
THROW ON RUN:
An athletic QB who shows good quickness getting to the outside. He works well through his rotation as he squares up with his target.
FOOTWORK:
For a QB of his size, he does a nice job getting his feet in the proper positioning prior to release. He’s a strong running QB who demonstrates bursts of speed through the secondary. Very good spacing and balance while in his drop backs.
POISE:
Very patient as he seeks out opportunities downfield. Very good awareness of defensive pressure, able to work within the space around him.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Displays good agility within the pocket, able to step up or move laterally when space is limited.
DECISION MAKING:
Demonstrates the ability to work through his progressions, from primary targets to secondary outlets. Will need to work through his reads quicker, especially when the pressure picks up during the season.
TOUCH:
An area of strength for Cooper, the ability to delivery a pass with a soft touch. Serves as a proven passer with the ability to adjust the velocity of his delivery.
