SIZE:
Dayton has very good size for a 2021 Pro Style QB at 6’0” 200 lbs. He’s a strong armed QB who shows good toughness within the backfield. A very competitive player on the field, out works everybody else on the field. A strong throwing playmaker.
ACCURACY:
He shows very good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes. Able to place the ball in reach of his targets, allowing them to make a play on it. Good ball placement. Doesn't lose much accuracy on the go.
ARM STRENGTH:
His throws include high velocity, reaching his receivers in a hurry. Including a quick snap of the wrist, he’s able to gain strong forward momentum upon delivery.
RELEASE:
An over the top passer with a high release point. Dayton displays proper throwing mechanics with predictable consistency. Demonstrates solid footwork prior to set up.
THROW ON RUN:
This is his area of strength. He works to the outside with good quickness and speed. Getting the ball out in front of him as he seeks out a target. A legit Dual Threat if needed, who can turn it up at any moment. Very dangerous out in the open field.
FOOTWORK:
This is where Dayton separates himself on the field. He’s very athletic, able to make plays others can't.
POISE:
Give him high marks for this attribute, he’s as calm as they get. Not easily distracted when executing a play. Very good patience as he waits for a play to develop.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Difficult to contain within the pocket. Works well in and around the pocket with good agility. Good feel for the space around him.
DECISION MAKING:
He does a good job seeking out his best option receiver. Does a nice job working through his progressions.
TOUCH
Very good touch on his throws at every level; short, intermediate, and long. Solid trajectory with minimal air underneath.
