SIZE:
DeAngelo has excellent size for a 2024 Pro Style QB at 6’6” 180 lbs. He’s a pure pocket passer who’s uses his height to survey the field. A strong armed QB who gets the ball out in a hurry.
ACCURACY:
Has a knack for getting the ball to a certain area on the field, with good timing and anticipation. His throws are in-line with his receivers, allowing them to make a play on the ball.
ARM STRENGTH
Very good arm strength with throws of high velocity. Generates increased momentum throughout his arm motion. He also possess a vertical game that needs to be respected.
RELEASE:
DeAngelo has an over the top delivery, held way back with full extension. Solid footwork on his drop backs and set ups.
THROW ON RUN:
Good lateral movement getting to the outside as he works to pin down a target. Squares up evenly with his receiver. Strong forward momentum upon his release.
FOOTWORK:
Very good agility in and around the pocket. Moves well laterally, while creating added space for himself. Can work to add speed and quickness to his game.
POISE:
Good patience as he waits for his receivers' break on their routes. He has the ability to lead at a higher level. He’s got the right tools to become a reliable QB.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very comfortable as pocket passer, he’s skilled in his ability to throw the ball at a location, prior to the receiver making his cut. Does a nice job picking up on pressure.
DECISION MAKING:
On film, he does a nice job working from his primary option to secondary outlets. Quick reads. He’s very decisive with his delivery, picking up on coverage while connecting with his best option.
TOUCH:
He’s a strong throwing QB who can take something off the velocity of his throws for added touch.
