SIZE:
DJ has excellent size for a 2024 Pro Style QB at 6’2” 210 lbs. He throws with a high release point, giving the ball adding lift. He sits in the pocket with a tall platform, able to see the entire field.
ACCURACY:
His throws are made in-line with his receivers. Showing good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes with good ball placement. Loses a bit on accuracy at longer distances.
ARM STRENGTH:
Displays good arm strength on his short and intermediate throws. Makes throws at long range, extending over coverage.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with full arm extension. Can work to create a tighter trajectory at long range.
THROW ON RUN:
DJ shows good lateral movement from side to side. Good acceleration upon release, solid body rotation. An area he'll continue to work hard on, improving to get his footwork down.
FOOTWORK:
Solid footwork on his dropbacks. Good mobility in either direction. Can work to increase his quickness in step.
POISE:
Good awareness of defensive pressure. Shows good patience in the pocket as he waits for them to break of the route.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Gets the ball off in a hurry with a good sense of the defensive pressure. He’s able to keep his focus while in play mode.
DECISION MAKING:
With more game experience, DJ will continue to work through his progressions, from primary to secondary outlets. Quick reads on his initial targets.
TOUCH:
This is an area of strength for DJ. He does a nice job adjusting the velocity of his throws, creating for a softer throw when needed.
