SIZE:
Finnley has very good size for a 2024 Dual Threat QB at 6’2” 185 lbs. I love how this QB plays the game. He's always attacking, seeking out every possible opportunity downfield. Works quickly out of the set position. Very difficult to pin down. A strong armed QB who shows good toughness while on the run.
ACCURACY:
Sharp precision with throws made of tight rotational spin. Good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes. Gets the ball to his receivers, allowing them to make a play on it. Remains consistent whether in the pocket or on the run.
ARM STRENGTH:
His throws include high velocity, getting the ball to his receivers in a hurry. With increased acceleration, he’s able to gain momentum upon his release.
RELEASE:
Finnley's an over the top passer with a high release point. Sound throwing mechanics with predictable consistency. Gets his feet set prior to delivery.
THROW ON RUN:
This is where he's most dangerous, out side the pocket. Good quickness and speed as he breaks out. Gets the ball out in front of him as he seeks out a target. A legit Dual Threat who can turn it up at any moment. Very elusive out in the open field.
FOOTWORK:
Super athletic, able to do whatever he wants. He gets into the defense with a burst of speed and moves quickly through the secondary.
POISE:
Give him high marks for this attribute, he’s as calm as they get. Not easily distracted when executing a play. Very good patience as he waits for a play to develop.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very difficult to contain within the pocket. Works well in and around the pocket with good agility. Good feel for the space around him.
DECISION MAKING:
He does a good job seeking out his best option receiver. Works well through his progressions.
TOUCH
Very good touch on his throws at every level. Long distance throws made with tight trajectory.
