Scouting Report

SIZE:
Jaxon has excellent size for a 2021 Pro Style QB at 6’6” 225 lbs. Throws with a tall platform, showing very good vision downfield. Has an over the top delivery which adds height to his throws. Good agility within the pocket, able to escape pressure.
ACCURACY:
Able to square up as he pivots in the direction of his receivers prior to delivery. His timing and anticipation of his receivers routes help to up his accuracy with good ball placement. Would be able to add with a more consistent delivery. Many throws made while avoiding pressure.
ARM STRENGTH:
Jaxon has a solid vertical passing game, extending the field while delivering bombs downfield. Sharp throws made at short/intermediate range with high velocity.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with a fully extended arm motion. High release point for added height to his throws.
THROW ON RUN:
Jaxon's an athletic QB for a player of his size Does a nice job getting to the outside with good quickness and footwork. Solid body rotation as he lines up with his receivers.
FOOTWORK:
This is an area in which Devin will be able to work and improve on. He’s most comfortable as a pocket passer but also shows good athleticism rolling to the outside. Nice footwork on his dropbacks, with balanced stride. Runs a 4.93/40.
POISE:
Displays good patience in the pocket, waiting for the play to fully develop. Not easily distracted by the noise around him.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Good awareness of the space around him, able to pick up on defensive pressure with the ability to step up in the pocket or move laterally.
DECISION MAKING:
His throws are made with good judgment, delivering quick strikes, allowing the defense minimal time to react.
TOUCH:
An area of major strength for Jaxon is his ability to create a softer release when needed. Getting the ball over zone coverage or laying it out on a bubble screen.
