SIZE:
JD has very good size for a 2027 Pro Style QB at 6'1" 167 lbs. His game is to spead the field with a spray of throws that get to his receivers with excellent ball location. Very good vision downfield, while picking apart the defense.
ACCURACY:
Throws with precision and timing. Able to hit his receivers while in stride. Fundamental sound throwing mechanics. Can work to increase on his 57% completion rate from last season.
ARM STRENGTH:
High velocity throws, hitting his targets with dart-like precision over the middle. Very impressed with his vertical passing game, making throws over coverage. He can hit in all areas of the field.
RELEASE:
He throws with an over the top release and a fully extended arm motion. Proper footing prior to set up.
THROW ON RUN:
Good mobility to the outside. Can work to add speed and quickness to his game. Does a nice job squaring up with his intended target.
FOOTWORK:
Shows good mobility in and around the pocket. Well balanced stride on his drop backs.
POISE:
JD's not easily distracted by the noise around him, remains focused. Very polished and comfortable while in the pocket. He’s a leader who stays calm under pressure.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very good patience while executing the play. He does a nice job picking up on defense pressure, gets the ball off in a hurry.This is where JD excels, getting the ball to his initial target. Will continue to add to his game by working through his progressions.
TOUCH:
He a strong passer who can also make the proper adjustments on the velocity of his throws to add a softer touch.
