Joey has very good size for a 2023 Pro Style QB at 6’2” 195 lbs. This QB attacks the defense at every level. He delivers sharp throws made of tight rotational spin. He's a playmaker who's extremely dangerous while in game mode.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers, delivered on a tight rope. Very good ball placement, up and away from defenders.
ARM STRENGTH:
Joey's a strong throwing QB who gets the ball to his receivers in a hurry. High velocity throws made at short/intermediate range. Legit vertical passing game.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with a high release point. The ball is held way back with full extension. Excellent throwing mechanics which are fluid and consistent.
THROW ON RUN:
Joey’s an athletic QB with very good lateral movement. He gets off the block quickly while assessing the passing situation downfield. Good rotation of body, squaring up with his intended target.
FOOTWORK:
A quick first step, showing good balance and rhythm on his dropbacks. He can serve as a Dual Threat when needed, displaying good elusiveness and speed out on the open field. Runs a 4.8/40.
POISE:
Very confident in his abilities as a QB. He trusts his instincts, able to keep plays alive while showing off his creativity.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Good patience while sitting back and waiting for the play to develop. Picks up on incoming pressure, able to create space for himself.
DECISION MAKING:
An intelligent QB who understands the game. Can outsmart a defense with his ability to pick up on their weaknesses.
TOUCH:
This is an area in which he excels in. His throws are make with a soft touch. Whether its over the secondary or in between zone coverage, he's able to hit his target with tight trajectory and adjustment to his velocity.
