On June 4, 2021, after a good performance with the 10-12th grade class at the Toledo camp, John Robert was approached by Wayne State University and they wanted to offer him. He also caught the attention of Central Michigan’s coach, Jim McElwain and he pulled him to the side and had a lot of positive comments to say to him. Also, Indiana, Miami of Ohio, Old Dominion and several others approached him. At age 13, John Robert was asked to play up on the Elite Talent 18U 7v7 team at the North Cobb. He carried his team to the semi-finals and got a lot of attention from that tournament. He beat a team that had 5 guys with D1 offers. In 2020, John Robert led the Carrollton Trojans to an undefeated season and a Jr. High Championship. In 5 games, he was 36/51 (71%), 11 TD’s, & 718 yds. In 2019, John Robert was selected as the only 6th grade QB to play up on the JR high football team. He was utilized a lot during the year and made a huge impact for the Trojans. He was 22/33 for 582 passing and threw 5 TD’s. His winning TD pass and two point conversion against the reigning champs allowed the Trojans to gain home field advantage in the playoffs and advancing to the Championship game. He is a very poised player and doesn’t fold under pressure. He has been working at QB year round since he was 7 and Carrollton coaches says he has a bright future. He is a very hungry player and you’ll be hearing more of him as he progresses.
