SIZE:
JT has very good size for a 2020 Dual Threat QB at 6’3” 205 lbs. He throws with a high release point, giving the ball adding lift. He sits in the pocket with a tall platform, able to see the entire field. Very sound in his throwing mechanics.
ACCURACY:
JT is dead on with his throws, working out of a spread formation. He has a very consistent throwing motion, allowing for minimal deviation. Passes are made in-line with his receivers.
ARM STRENGTH:
Displays very good arm strength on his short and intermediate throws. A very quick release off the hand which allows for added velocity. High velocity throws made at all levels.
RELEASE:Very good throwing technique which is consistent and fluid. An over the top delivery with full arm extension.
THROW ON RUN:
JT shows good lateral movement from side to side. Good acceleration upon release, solid body rotation.
FOOTWORK:
A longer stride QB who can get from place to place in a hurry. He shows solid footwork on his drop backs, with good spacing.
POISE:
Demonstrates good patience in the pocket as he waits for the break of the route. Shows good awareness of defensive pressure, able to set up in the pocket.
POCKET PRESENCE:
JT works well in the pocket showing good mobility, showing a good feel for the space around him. He’s able to keep his focus while in play mode.
DECISION MAKING:
Shows good decisiveness when assessing the play at hand. Does a nice job working through his progressions.
TOUCH:
This is an area of strength for JT. He does a nice job adjusting the velocity of his throws, creating for a softer release.
