SIZE:
Lane has very good size for a 2024 Dual Threat QB at 6'1" 175 lbs. He’s a quick hitting QB who gets the ball out in a hurry. Works from a spread formation with good initial reads. Able to generate strong forward momentum on his delivery with a fully extended arm motion. A long stride running QB who can pick up added yards.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers, showing good anticipation and timing. Very good range without losing much on accuracy. Excellent ball placement.
ARM STRENGTH:
His throws include high velocity, getting through the secondary in a hurry. Able to extend the field with his deep passes displaying tight trajectory with just enough air underneath.
RELEASE:
Lane throws with an over the top delivery and a fully extended arm motion. Can work to improve on his footwork on his drop backs with a quicker first step.
THROW ON RUN:
Lane shows good quickness and speed as he gets himself to the outside. Strong forward momentum on his throws as he zeros in on his target.
FOOTWORK:
Good agility within the pocket, able to move in all directions, while creating additional space for himself.
POISE:
Picks up on the defensive pressure, able to maneuver away from traffic. Good feel for the space around him. He’s a confident QB who not afraid to take chances.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Lane uses the entire backfield as his work area. Can sit in the pocket or take it to the outside, opening up additional passing lanes.
DECISION MAKING:
Does a nice job locating his primary targets. I like his aggressiveness on the field, not afraid to take chances downfield.
TOUCH:
A strong throwing QB who does an good job making the right adjustments to the velocity of his throws for a softer release. Able to get the ball up and over zone coverage.
