SIZE:
Luke has good size for a 2022 Pro Style QB at 6’2” 160 lbs. He works the entire backfield, creating adding space working his way laterally in either direction. Shows good vision as he surveys the field, making passes that include a high release. Should be able to add more bulk to his frame over the next couple years.
ACCURACY:
When he sets up for delivery, he’s right on the mark. Good anticipation of his receivers routes. Very consistent with his delivery as a pocket passer, loses a bit of accuracy while on the go.
ARM STRENGTH:
He gets good height and distance on his throws. With his long arm extension, he’s able to get the ball over defensive coverage. Strong throws made at the short and intermediate range. Can work to lower the trajectory of his throws at long range, allowing for less air underneath.
RELEASE:
He throws with an over the top delivery, along with an arm motion that’s fully extended. His release point is raised above, giving his throws extra lift. Very good footwork on his drop backs and set ups. Would like to see a quicker first step out of the box.
THROW ON RUN:
Luke's an athletic QB who can get to the outside with good speed and quickness. Does a nice job rotating his body in line with his receivers.
FOOTWORK:
Very good movement in either direction in the backfield. He shows good agility as he works to avoid traffic while creating space for himself.
POISE:
Shows good patience as he waits for the play to develop. Very calm within the pocket as he works methodically seeking out big opportunities downfield.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Able to pick up on his initial targets with solid reads. Able to get the ball off in time before incoming pressure.
DECISION MAKING:
While on the go, Luke's able to zone in on his best option receiver. He a quick hitting QB, who wastes very little time connected with his target. Will continue to work on his progressions with more game experience.
TOUCH:
This is an area of skill for Luke, able to add a soft touch to his passes made at all levels; short, intermediate, long.
