SIZE:
Malakai has excellent size for a 2025 Pro Style QB at 6’3” 175 lbs. He’s a tall presence in the pocket, able to oversee the entire field for possible targets. Makes long distances throws with ease. Throws with an over the top delivery, adding height to the ball’s trajectory. Tall and lengthy QB who will continue to grow within his frame.
ACCURACY:
His throws are placed with sharp precision along with good timing. Displays good anticipation of his receivers' routes along with proper ball placement.
ARM STRENGTH:
His throws are made with high velocity, getting to his receivers in a hurry. Very good range with throws made well over coverage. Attacks the defense with throws made of dart-like precision.
RELEASE:
An over the top passer with a high release point. A fully extended arm motion with increased acceleration. Proper footing prior to set up.
THROW ON RUN:
Malakai’s an athletic QB who shows good quickness getting to the outside. He works well through his rotation as he squares up with his target. Strong forward momentum.
FOOTWORK:
For a QB of his size, he does a nice job getting his feet in the proper positioning prior to set up. He’s a long stride running QB who demonstrates bursts of speed through the secondary.
POISE:
Shows good awareness of defensive pressure, able to work within the space around him. He’s a confident QB with a solid QB skills set.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Displays good agility within the pocket, able to step up or move laterally when space is limited.
DECISION MAKING:
An intelligent QB who works smoothly through his progressions. Quick initial reads, picking up on his primary target.
TOUCH:
Able to adjust the velocity of his delivery for a softer release. Sneaking the ball in between zone coverage.
