SIZE:
Malik has excellent size for a 2028 Dual Threat QB at 6'3" 150 lbs. A tall lengthy QB who'll be able to add bulk onto his frame without losing agility. A high release point, giving the ball adding lift. He sits in the pocket with a tall platform, able to see the entire field.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers. When able to set up in the pocket, this QB's right on the mark. He'll be able to add consistency in delivery for increased accuracy with more training.
ARM STRENGTH:
Displays very good arm strength on his short and intermediate throws. A quick release with throws of high velocity.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with full arm extension.
THROW ON RUN:
Malik displays good lateral movement from side to side. He works well to align himself with his intended target.
FOOTWORK:
A long stride QB who can get from place to place in a hurry. He shows solid footwork on his drop backs, with good spacing.
POISE:
Good patience in the pocket as he waits for his receivers' break. Good awareness of incoming pressure, able to set up in the pockert.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Malik works well in the pocket showing good mobility, showing a good feel for the space around him. He’s able to keep his focus while in play mode.
DECISION MAKING:
This will be an area he'll conitnue to work to improve on with more game reps. Being able to work through his progressions.
TOUCH:
Able to adjust the velocity of his throws, creating for a softer release.
