Mario has good size for a 2021 Dual Threat QB at 6'0" 185 lbs. He’s a playmaker on the field, able to do just about anything he wants. Very comfortable in either role, a pocket passer or a dual threat.
ACCURACY:
His throws are on target, getting to his receivers with good ball placement and timing.Threw for a 59% completion rate last season.
ARM STRENGTH:
He can make all of the throws required of him. At short and intermediate range, Mario deliveries high velocity throws that get past defenders within tight windows of space. Solid vertical passing game with bombs made over coverage.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with a three quarter arm extension. Resulting in a quick release. Getting the ball to his receivers in a hurry.
THROW ON RUN:
He's very dangerous out in the open field. Displays good speed and quickness. Runs a 4.67/40. Solid body rotation and follow through.
FOOTWORK:
He’s a legit Dual Threat who can get through the defense with increased acceleration. Breakaway speed with elusiveness.
POISE:
Does a great job leading his team downfield. Named District MVP last season. Can take over the game with his play.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Good awareness of the space around him, able to step up or move laterally to avoid the pressure.
DECISION MAKING:
Mario works well within the pocket with good patience. Making throws of high completion while avoiding tight coverage situations.
TOUCH:
His throws are very catch-able, adding a softer delivery when needed.
