SIZE:
Mason has good size for a 2024 Dual Threat QB at 6'1" 175 lbs. This QB attacks a defense in the air and on the ground as a legit dual threat. He stands tall in the pocket, able to survey the field for potential targets. Quick bursts of speed on the run, creating separation.
ACCURACY:
Mason can get the ball to any location on the field with aggressive throws that are made with precision. He’s able to maintain his accuracy whether its in the pocket or on a roll out. The key to his accuracy comes from his sound throwing mechanics along with his consistency. Threw for a 79% completion rate last season.
ARM STRENGTH:
His arm strength is never a question. He fires darts into the defense and can extend the field with bombs downfield. Never losing the accuracy of his throws.An over the top delivery that comes across quickly with continued acceleration upon release. He does an excellent job getting set up and firing a rocket in all areas of the field.
THROW ON RUN:
Excellent mobility getting to the outside and setting up. He shows very good vision downfield as he locks in with a receiver.
FOOTWORK:
Mason's a very athletic QB who can escape pressure and picks up large chunks of yardage with his speed and quickness.
POISE:
He’s a very confident QB who’s skilled at every level. In control of the offensive unit as he leads them downfield. Very comfortable within the pocket, showing patience and poise.
POCKET PRESENCE:
He does a great job picking up on defensive pressure, able to step up or move across laterally.
DECISION MAKING:
Skilled at reading coverage and taking advantage of weaknesses. Very decisive with his throws, leaving the defenses little time to react.
TOUCH:
His throws include tight trajectory on the deep ball along with a soft release when needed at the short and intermediate range.
