Scouting Report

SIZE:
Mason has good size for a 2021 Dual Threat QB at 6’0” 165 lbs. Very good agility within the pocket, able to open up additional passing lanes. A tough running QB who displays very good quickness and elusiveness.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers, with good location and timing. He’s able to maintain the accuracy of his throws while on the run.
ARM STRENGTH:
Able to make all the throws required of him. Shows good distance and trajectory on his deep passes. A quick release and strong velocity on his throws at the short and intermediate range.
RELEASE:
His throws include an over the top delivery which comes from way back. A fully extended arm motion for added momentum, giving long range potential.
THROW ON RUN:
This is an area in which Mason excels. He has very good speed and quickness as he works to the outside. Most dangerous while on the run, opening up the entire field as he seeks out opportunities.
FOOTWORK:
Another area of strength. Shows very good mobility in and around the pocket. Runs with great vision.
POISE:
He’s very confident in his abilities, willing to take chances down field in tight coverage, showing good ball placement. Good awareness of defensive pressure, able to move around traffic.He does a nice job escaping from the defensive pressure, creating open space for himself.
DECISION MAKING:
Mason does a nice job going from his primary to secondary outlets. Shows good patience as a he waits for the play to develop.
TOUCH:
He shows good touch on the deep pass routes and can work to improve on developing a softer touch at intermediate and shorter range.
