SIZE:
Matthew has excellent size for a 2028 Pro Style QB at 6’3” 175 lbs. Has all the skiils to be among the top '28 QB collegiate prospects. Stands in the pocket with a tall platform, making strong throws downfield. Works well through his progressions while making quick reads.
ACCURACY:
His throwing mechanics are sound and consistent. Able to square up as he pivots in the direction of his receivers prior to delivery. His timing and anticipation of his receivers routes help to up his accuracy, along with good ball placement.
ARM STRENGTH:
Matthew has a strong vertical passing game, extending the field with bombs downfield. He can also get the ball out to his receivers at short and intermediate range with sharp precision.
RELEASE:
A over the top delivery with full extension. High release point for added height to his throws.
THROW ON RUN:
An athletic QB. For a player of his size he does a nice job getting to the outside with good quickness and footwork. Squares up with his intended target with strong forward momentum.
FOOTWORK:
This is an area in which Matthew will continue to perfect. Most comfortable as a pocket passer who also shows good athleticism to the outside. Solid footwork on his dropbacks, with a balanced stride.
POISE:
He competes in 7v7 play, giving him the confidence to work his way through his receiver options. He’s a proven leader and a true competitor on the field.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Displays patience in the pocket as he waits for his receivers' break. Excellent vision downfield.
DECISION MAKING:
His throws are made with good judgment, delivering quick strikes, allowing the defense minimal time to react.
TOUCH:
An area of major strength for Matthew is his ability to create a softer touch when needed. Getting the ball over coverage with tight trajectory.
