SIZE:
Matthew has good size for a 2023 Dual Threat QB at 5’11” 152 lbs. A tough competitor who never gives up on a play. His entire game is all about speed, from the moment he gets out the box, to his roll outs, to his delivery.
ACCURACY:
When given the time and space around him, Matthew's very accurate. He works well within the pocket, able to survey the entire field. A quick hitting QB who gets to ball to his receivers in a hurry. Loses a bit of consistency while on the run.
ARM STRENGTH:
Able to make all of the throws required of him. Displaying throws made of high velocity within the secondary. Solid vertical game, able to extend the field.
RELEASE:
He throws with a high release point. An over the top delivery with a fully extended arm motion. Solid footwork prior to set up of delivery.
THROW ON RUN:
This is where Matthew excels the most, while on the go. Demonstrates athletic ability as he seek out potential targets.
FOOTWORK:
He shows very good speed and quickness and he works his way around the pocket. He does a nice good job with his drop backs and set ups, with good balance and stride.
POISE:
Very versatile, able to do just about anything on the field. Not afraid to take chances with his throws, especially in one-on-one situations.
POCKET PRESENCE:
This is where Matthew works best. He has a good feel of the traffic around him and able to create space for himself. Does a nice job picking up on opportunities downfield.
DECISION MAKING:
He does a nice job seeking out his primary target when open.
TOUCH:
His throws over the middle include a soft touch, getting the ball in between zone coverage. Very solid trajectory on the deeper routes.
