Size;
Nickolas has good size for a 2021 Pro Style QB at 6'0" 160 lbs. He sits in the pocket with a tall platform, able to assess the entire field for potential targets. He’s an athletic QB who's able to work the entire backfield.
ACCURACY:
He delivers passes that are in-line with his receivers, making for a catchable ball. Shows good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes. Most accurate at short/intermediate range, loses a bit at long range.
ARM STRENGTH:
His throws within the secondary are made with high velocity, able to hit his targets in between tight windows of space. He can work to improve on his vertical passing game, with throws of tighter trajectory.
RELEASE:
Nickolas throws with an over the top delivery. Able to give his throws added height with fully extended arm motion. A three quarter delivery which is compact, allowing for the ball to get out quickly in certain passing situations.
THROW ON RUN:
Most comfortable within the pocket but can get to the outside with good quickness. Very good at locating potential targets downfield while on the run. Solid body rotation upon delivery.
FOOTWORK:
Very agile within the pocket, able to create space for himself. Displays good balance while on the go. Able to serve as a running QB when needed.
POISE:
Good control of the offensive unit, able to lead team downfield. Shows good awareness of the space around him.
POCKET PRESENCE:
This is an area of strength for Nickolas. Very good sense of the space around him. Able to pick up on defensive pressure with calm. Able to sit in the pocket, following the play all the way through.
DECISION MAKING:
Very decisive with his throws, does a nice job getting the ball to his initial targets.
TOUCH:
Very good touch on all his throws. Able to ease off the velocity of his throws for added touch.
