Scouting Report

SIZE:
Preston has good size for a 2020 Pro Style QB at 6’0" 185 lbs. Does a nice job making space for himself within the backfield, able to get outside in a hurry. He works his best while on the outside.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers, showing good ball placement. Works well with his receivers as he waits patiently for their breaks. Good anticipation and timing while in motion.
ARM STRENGTH:
Displays a strong release on his short and intermediate routes. Good zip on the ball, including a tight spiral. Solid vertical passing game.
RELEASE:
Preston throws with a full extension, the ball comes from over the top . He gets the ball out in a hurry, which a fluid throwing motion.
THROW ON RUN:
He does a very good job getting to the outside and making plays downfield. Good body rotation and forward momentum upon release.
FOOTWORK:
He shows good movement in all directions. Not classified as a Dual Threat but can be dangerous out in the open field because of his athleticism.
POISE:
Able to react quickly with incoming pressure. Not easily distracted with the noise around him.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very good sense of the space around him. He’s able to get around traffic while still focusing on the play. Would like to see more patience within the pocket before leaving on the run.
DECISION MAKING:
Preston does a nice job hitting on his primary receivers from his reads of the defense. He sometimes throws the ball into tight coverage or will try to make something happen.
TOUCH:
Adds a nice touch on the run, getting the ball in between zone coverage.
