Scouting Report

SIZE:
Ryan has very good size for a 2021 Pro Style QB at 5'11" 190 lbs. He stands in the pocket with a tall platform, able to survey the entire field. A tall and lengthy QB who’ll be able to add bulk to his frame over the next few years. High release point gives him added height to his throws.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers, showing precision passes made at the short and intermediate range. Good anticipation and timing with his receivers over the middle.
ARM STRENGTH:
An area of strength for Ryan. He throws with a long, extended arm motion which allows for him to get over the top of coverage, providing for a solid vertical passing game. Passes made within the secondary include high velocity throws.
RELEASE:
A left-handed QB who does a nice job adjusting the angle of his release. Throws with a classic over the top delivery with a high release point, fully extended. Can work to improve on his footwork prior to set up.
THROW ON RUN:
Ryan is most comfortable in the pocket but is able to get to the outside when needed. He shows good forward momentum upon delivery as he fires the ball toward his intended targets. Can work to improve on the rotation of his body.
FOOTWORK:
This will be an area in which he’ll need to perfect. Ryan shows good agility around the pocket but will need to get his speed and quickness up.
POISE:
Shows good patience in the pocket as he waits for his receivers to break on their routes. Not easily distracted by the noise around him.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Ryan throws with a tall platform with good balance and stride. Works well with his offensive unit. Able to execute plays from beginning to end.
DECISION MAKING:
He does a nice job locating his primary target. With more high school game experience, he'll be able to work of his progressions, from his primary target on down to his secondary outlets.
TOUCH:
Does a nice job adjusting the velocity of his throws, creating a softer release at the short and intermediate range. Very good touch on the deeper routes, displaying solid trajectory with just enough air underneath.
