SIZE:
Sawyer has good size for a 2025 Dual Threat QB at 6'1" 190 lbs. He plays above the level of competition. A tough QB with a strong running game, willing to take on would-be tacklers for additional yardage.
ACCURACY:
His throws are made with the ability for his receivers to make a play on it. Very good ball placement, up and away from defenders.
ARM STRENGTH:
Sawyer gets the ball to his receivers in a hurry. His short and intermediate throws are made with high velocity. Solid vertical passing game.
RELEASE:
Throws are made with a very high release point, adding lift. An over the top delivery with a fully extended arm motion, getting the ball off in a hurry.
THROW ON RUN:
A very athletic QB who can take over a game with his skills. He’s very quick getting to the outside, can be deadly while on the run.
FOOTWORK:
A quick first step moving in all directions. Great burst of speed and mobility while out in the open field.
POISE:
Sawyer is in full control of the game situation. Able to turn it up at any time. Good awareness of defensive pressure.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very comfortable in the pocket, able to assess the defense, while executing the play. Confident in his abilities as a passer and runner.
DECISION MAKING:
This is an area in which Sawyer will be working on with more game experience.
TOUCH:
Has very good touch, able to get the ball in between zone coverage, making plays with a catchable ball.
