SIZE:
Vann has good size for a 2024 Pro Style QB at 6'0" 175 lbs. He’s a pure pocket passer, able to sit in the pocket with very good vision, connecting on his initial reads. He gets the ball out in a hurry, able to pick up on defense pressure.
ACCURACY:
This is an area of strength for Vann. His throws are in-line with his receivers with good timing and ball placement. He can pick apart a defense with his ability to spot openings within zone coverage. Has improved on his accuracy with proper footwork prior to set up.
ARM STRENGTH:
Very good arm strength, he can sling the rock into tight coverage with high velocity throws. Solid vertical passing game. Would like to see a tighter trajectory at longer distance.
RELEASE:
An over the top passer with a fully extended arm motion, generating increased momentum upon release. His footwork on his drop backs have improved with sharper steps. Does an excellent job getting out of the box in a hurry.
THROW ON RUN:
Vann is most comfortable as a pocket passer but can also make plays on the outside. Solid body rotation, in line with his receivers.
FOOTWORK:
Displays good lateral movement while creating additional space for himself. Quick feet on his drop backs.
POISE:
This is another area of strength for Vann, he’s very calm under pressure, showing good patience. A confident QB who trusts in his abilities.
POCKET PRESENCE:
He’s got a good read on defensive pressure, able to get the ball off quickly.
DECISION MAKING:
His accuracy is helped by his ability to locate his best option receiver, making the right call and hitting the mark quickly.
TOUCH:
A strong armed QB who can take something off the velocity of his throws for a softer toss.
