SIZE:
Walker has good size for a 2020 Pro Style QB at 6’0” 175 lbs. He stands in tall in the pocket, showing good patience and toughness. Does a nice job moving in and around the pocket with good agility.
ACCURACY:
He displays very good accuracy in his short and intermediate game and drops off slightly on his deeper passes. Whether he’s on the run or set in the pocket, his throws are made with sharp precision.
ARM STRENGTH:
Walker can fire it into the secondary with high velocity. He throws with a quick release, getting the ball to his receivers in a hurry. Able to thread the needle within tight areas of space. He’s got a solid vertical game, able to go long when the opportunity strikes.
RELEASE:
He’s a southpaw, throwing with his left arm. His throws are make with an over the top delivery at a three quarter release, allowing for the ball to get out in a hurry. Excellent footwork prior to set up.
THROW ON RUN:
Walker is most comfortable within the pocket but can get to the outside when needed. He does a great job avoiding traffic while moving laterally, maintaining his focus downfield. Good body rotation and forward momentum.
FOOTWORK:
Displays a quick first step, able to move in all directions. He’s not considered a Dual Threat but can pick up yardage on short down situations.
POISE:
Walker’s a very confident QB, who’s perfecting his craft with more game experience. Good awareness of the space around him, demonstrating a calm under pressure.
POCKET PRESENCE:
This is where Walker is most comfortable. He sets up in a hurry, while showing good patience as he waits for the play to develop, taking the hit soon after. Good awareness of defensive pressure and using his internal clock to get the ball off on time.
DECISION MAKING:
Walker’s an intelligent QB who’s able to pick up on his best option receiver. He’s able to work through from his primary target down to his secondary outlets.
TOUCH:
Walker’s hard throwing QB at the short and intermediate range while in the pocket. He’s able to work in a soft delivery while on the run, getting it in between zone coverage. Does a nice job reducing the air drag underneath the ball with tight trajectory.
