Santino has very good size for a 2021 Dual Threat QB at 6’1” 190 lbs. Stands tall in the pocket, showing good patience and durability. A tough running QB who’s takes on would-be tacklers for added yardage.
His throws are made with sharp precision, hitting his targets in stride. Very good at following routes and anticipating location. Will need to improve on his overall accuracy. This may be helped with his ability to create a higher release point, expanding his range of delivery. Shows tight trajectory on his deeper passes, no floaters.
Santino throws darts all over the field. He’s a sniper when targeting routes over the middle, hitting his receivers with high velocity throws. Able to extend the field with his deep passes, getting them over the top.
He throws with an over the top delivery, arm fully pulled back. Able to generate momentum and increased velocity through his arm motion. Very good footwork on his drop backs and set ups. Would like to see more of an upward arm extension, adding additional height to his delivery.
THROW ON RUN:
He’s dangerous out in the open field. Able to get to the outside with good speed and mobility. Does a nice job turning it up as he squares up to his target. Can work to improve on the flow of his movement, making throws in flight, off the ground vs taking additional time to set up.
Santino's a very athletic QB who serves as a Dual Threat because of his quickness and elusiveness. Very difficult to contain within the backfield, good agility and escapability.
He displays play making ability on the field. With his athleticism, he’s able to improvise while on the go. Good awareness of the pressure around his, as well as space. Very confident in his abilities as a QB.
Santino's very decisive with his throws, displaying what I call controlled aggressiveness, attacking the defense with smart throws.
Solid trajectory on his deep passes with just enough air underneath, near perfection. As a strong throwing QB, I'd like to see shorter/intermediate range throws made with a softer delivery when needed, up and over coverage.
