Call it a successful foundation season for Jax Madden Brown, but this fall the reigns to the Weiss High School (Pflugerville, Texas) offense will be fully in the Class of 2025 prospect’s hands. Brown appeared in eight games for the Wolves during his sophomore campaign igniting early offers from Arizona State and Pitt. Momentum along the recruiting trail among Power Five teams is building for the rising talent.

The Wolves will have a new head coach in 2023, but the same offensive scheme will be in full effect.

“We have a new head coach this year, he was our offensive coordinator last year,” Brown said. “We will keep the same offense, a RPO (run-pass option) that is pass-heavy. This year it will stay the same as last year.”

The focus for Brown this spring is building chemistry with his teammates and complete knowledge of the playbook.

“Really, I’m just building relationships with my teammates and being a leader on the team,” Brown stated. “I’m trying to perfect and know the playbook front and back.”

The two early P5 offers may add some new friends this offseason.

“Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Stanford, LSU, and TCU are showing interest,” Brown shared.

The Panthers have locked in with Brown letting him know he’s wanted at Pitt.

“Pitt is showing the most interest, and I’m calling several college coaches every week,” Brown said. “My relationship with Pitt is really good. Coach (Jonathan) DiBiaso (OGA) talk on a weekly basis. We talk about how they are doing and how I am doing.”

The Panthers were one of three teams to get the Texas talent on campus this spring.

“I went up to Oregon, Pitt, and Baylor,” Brown stated.

Pitt impressed Brown while on campus.

“It went really well,” Brown shared. “They treated us well. I love their facilities and their campus. They have a great vibe overall.”

Brown took in a Bears practice while in Waco.

“It was good,” Brown stated. “I went there for a spring practice. I liked Baylor.”

College camps are on the schedule for this summer.

“I am going to SMU’s mega camp, TCU’s mega camp, Stanford and LSU,” Brown said.

More camps could be added to the itinerary with the steady stream of college coaches coming to the Weiss campus this spring.

“We have had a lot of college coaches come by already,” Brown shared. “Last week Oklahoma State, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Purdue – a lot of D-II schools. Clemson came by, OU, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, and Oregon; there have been so many I can’t think of all of them.”

The Wolves lost a lot of senior talent at receiver from the 2022 season but return 2025 four-star target Adrian Wilson to form a dangerous one-two punch with Brown.
