SIZE:
Willie has excellent size for a 2024 Pro Style QB at 5’8” 170 lbs. He releases the ball with a high release point, adding lift to his delivery. He sits in the pocket with a tall platform, able to see the entire field.
ACCURACY:
Willie's throws are made in-line with his receivers. Showing good timing and anticipation of his receivers routes over the middle. His accuracy is increased when given the time and space prior to set up.
ARM STRENGTH:
Displays good arm strength on his short and intermediate throws. A very quick release which allows for added velocity. Can work on adding a tight trajectory to throws made at long range.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with full arm extension, able to generate strong forward momentum upon release.
THROW ON RUN:
Willie shows good lateral movement from side to side. An area he'll continues to work hard at, improving to get his footwork down.
FOOTWORK:
He shows solid footwork on his dropbacks, with good spacing. Can work to improve on his quickness and agility within the pocket.
POISE:
Very coachable with a good understanding of the game. He shows good patience in the pocket as he waits for his receivers to break on their routes.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Willie will need to put together more game experience, allowing him to get a feel for the space around him. He’s able to keep his focus while in play mode.
DECISION MAKING:
This will be another area in which Willie will work to improve on with more game experience. Shows decisiveness when assessing the play at hand.
TOUCH:
This is an area of strength for Willie. He does a nice job adjusting the velocity of his throws, creating for a softer throw.
