SIZE:
Austin has excellent size for a 2027 Dual Threat QB at 6’2" 175 lbs. He delivers the ball with a high release point, giving his throws adding lift. Very durable QB who can take on would-be tacklers.
ACCURACY:
Able to make throws in-line with his receivers. Showing good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes with good ball placement.
ARM STRENGTH:
Displays good arm strength on his short and intermediate throws. A quick release which allows for added velocity.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with three quarter extension.
THROW ON RUN:
Displays good lateral movement from side to side. Increased acceleration upon release. An area he'll continue to work on, improving of his footing as he squares up with his target.
FOOTWORK:
A long stride running QB who can get from place to place in a hurry. He shows solid footwork on his dropbacks, with good spacing.
POISE:
Good awareness of incoming pressure. Good patience in the pocket as he waits for his receiver's break.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Austin will continue to add to his game with added reps, working through his progressions. He’s able to keep his focus while in play mode.
DECISION MAKING:
Very decisive with his delivery. High percentage throws.
TOUCH:
This is an area of strength for Austin. He does a nice job adjusting the velocity of his throws, creating for a softer relase when needed.
