SIZE:
Carson has very good size for a 2027 QB at 6’2” 160 lbs. He throws the ball with full extension and high release point, adding lift to his delivery. Works well in the pocket for greater visibility.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers. Good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes.
ARM STRENGTH:
He’s able to make all of the required throws with good velocity. His vertical game is solid, able to stretch the field with deep passes over the secondary.
RELEASE:
Carson has an over the top delivery with a fully extended arm motion. Does a nice job adjusting the angle of his delivery when space around him is limited.
THROW ON RUN:
Good athleticism while working to the outside. Nice job squaring up with his target while on the go.
FOOTWORK:
He’s a long stride running QB who can pick up yards in a hurry. Good mobility and balance while on the run. Can work to add sharper steps with fluid mobility.
POISE:
In control of his offensive unit while leading his team downfield.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Able to avoid incoming pressure while setting up in pocket, creating space for himself.
DECISION MAKING:
Quick reads, picking up on his initial target. Working through his progressions, this will be an area Carson will continue to add to his game. Very decisive with his throws.
TOUCH:
He’s able to ease off velocity, creating a softer release. Tight trajectory of his throws on the deep passes, allowing for less air underneath.
