SIZE:
Cason has good size for a 2024 Dual Threat QB at 5'8" 155 lbs. A very mobile QB within the pocket, showing good lateral movement. A pure Dual Threat, able to take off at any moment. A playmaker on the field, able to take over a game.
ACCURACY:
He throws a very catchable ball, one made with a tight spiral. Showing good anticipation and timing of his receivers routes.
ARM STRENGTH:
He can hit his receivers in all areas of the field, showing good strength in arm. Strong delivery at the short and intermediate range. Tight trajectory on his long range throws.
RELEASE:
Cason works with an over the top delivery that is fully extended. He gets the ball out quickly with accelerated arm motion.
THROW ON RUN:
Shows very good quickness getting to the outside, while his vision remains down field. He dies a nice job squaring up with his receivers. Strong forward momentum delivery
FOOTWORK:
He shows solid footwork on his dropbacks as well as prior to setup. Good speed and quickness out in the open field with very good elusiveness.
POISE
He works quickly from a Pocket Passer to a Dual Threat QB, able to play either role on any given play.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Cason's very good at picking up on the defensive pressure while getting the ball off in a hurry. Would like to see more patience in the pocket, tends to take off too soon. Able to roll to either side as he surveys the field for potential targets.
DECISION MAKING:
This QB thinks smart while on the go. He seeks out big play opportunities.
TOUCH:
Cason does a nice job finding gaps within the secondary with a softer delivery. Tight trajectory at long range.
