SIZE:
Deagan has excellent size for a 2026 QB at 6’3” 190 lbs. As a Freshman, served as a starter at the varsity level. He stands out in the pocket with his size. Delivers the ball with a tall platform, including a high release point.
ACCURACY:
His throws reach his receivers with good ball placement, accuracy and timing. Whether his passes are made at the short or long range, Deagan remains consistent. Sound throwing mechanics.
ARM STRENGTH:
A strong armed QB who can fire it in on a rope, or lay it out on a fly route. His vertical passing game can’t go unnoticed. His throws reach beyond coverage with tight trajectory.
RELEASE:
He releases the ball with an over the top delivery and full extension. This gives his throws added lift. His arm motion is smooth and consistent.
THROW ON RUN:
For a QB of his size, Deagan's very athletic. He shows excellent mobility as he moves to the outside of the pocket, getting his feet in front of him and in-line with his potential targets.
FOOTWORK:
Classified as a Pro Style but can be dangerous to opposing defenses because of his ability to escape pressure while still maintaining his vision downfield. Excellent footwork on his dropbacks and set ups.
POISE:
His confidence level is way up there. He believes in abilities and feels comfortable as the leader of his offensive unit.
POCKET PRESENCE:
He’s difficult to contain within the pocket, displaying agility and mobility. Able to step up in the pocket or roll out for added space.
DECISION MAKING:
Deagan works well through his progressions, from primary to secondary outlets. Quick instincts while on the go.
TOUCH:
I was very impressed in his ability to adjust the velocity of his throws. From his soft touches on the fade routes, to his laser strikes over the middle.
