SIZE
DJ stands in at 5'8" 130 lbs for a 2025 Dual Threat. He uses his athletic ability to make plays on the field. Very difficult to contain within the pocket. Works well around traffic, creating added space for himself.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers, with tight spiral and rotation. Good ball placement, up and away from defenders. Remains consistent while on the run.
ARM STRENGTH
High velocity throws made at short/intermediate range. Doesn’t lose much while on the run. Able to squeeze the ball in tight areas of space while extending the field with long range passes.
RELEASE:
His throws are made with an over the top, fully extended arm motion. High release point, allowing for added height to his throws. Can adjust the angle of delivery when in tight areas of space.
THROW ON RUN
This is where DJ shows best in his abilities as a QB. He displays very good quickness and speed getting to the outside, serving as a Dual Threat. Does a nice job squares up with his target.
FOOTWORK:
Very good footwork within the backfield while moving laterally in either direction. He’s very active in the pocket and shows good speed and quickness out in the open field.
POISE:
A playmaker who never gives up on a play. Very focused while executing the play. Controls the pace of the game.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very comfortable within the pocket, able to stand tall in the pocket while he surveys the field or take it to the outside. He does a great job reading the defense while on the go.
DECISION MAKING:
This is an area DJ will work to perfect over time. Quick reads, picking up on his initial target.
TOUCH
Tight trajectory on his deep passes with just enough air underneath the ball.
