SIZE:
Gabe has excellent size for a 2022 Pro Style QB at 6’5” 220 lbs. He has a strong built, not easily able to take down, very good durability. A quick hitting QB who works out of the spread formation. An over the top delivery, adding height to his throws.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers, hitting his receivers while in stride. Throws a tight spiral, making for a catchable ball. Good ball placement.
ARM STRENGTH:
With size, comes arm strength. Gabe displays strong throws with high velocity made at short/intermediate range. Sharp throws over the middle while exhibiting a solid vertical passing game.
RELEASE:
An over the top delivery with a fully extended arm motion. Good footing and spacing prior to set up. Would like to see added acceleration on his follow through for extra pop on his release.
THROW ON RUN:
Gabe is most comfortable as a pocket passer but because of his athleticism, he can be very effective out in the open field. Shows good patience and calm.
FOOTWORK:
This will be an area of improvement for Gabe. Adding a quicker first step along with increased foot speed. Good spacing and stride on his drop backs and set ups.
POISE:
This QB's just starting to come into his own. gaining confidence in his abilities as a QB. A strong leader on the field. He’s not easily distracted by the pressure around him, stays focused and determined to complete the play.
DECISION MAKING:
He wastes very little time getting the ball to his receivers. Decisive with his throws, showing good judgment and ball placement.
TOUCH:
Very good trajectory on his deep passes, able to add touch to his vertical throws. Also does a nice job reducing the velocity of his throws, creating a softer release at short and intermediate range.
