SIZE:
Ian has very good size for a 2022 Dual Threat QB at 6'0" 185 lbs. He’s a very durable QB with lower body strength. Very difficult to take down on his runs, showing good footwork and strength. Adds lift to his throws with a fully extended arm location.
ACCURACY:
He displays very good throwing mechanics, making consistent throws that are in-line and on time. Precision passing at short and intermediate range. Strong throws made at ong range, with tight trajectory.
ARM STRENGTH:
A strong armed QB who can hit at any range from inside the pocket. High velocity throws at shorter distance which get to his receivers in a hurry. Solid vertical passing game.
RELEASE:
Ian throws with an over the top delivery and a full arm motion. Sound mechanics as he works through his release.
THROW ON RUN:
A quick footed QB who can get to the outside with good speed and mobility. Shows good rotation of his body as he squares up.
FOOTWORK:
An agile QB who can get out of trouble while still focusing on the play. Quick reflexes, able to move in all directions with a quick first step. Good speed out in the open field.
POISE:
A true competitor who leads by example. Very good toughness on both side of the ball. Strong confidence in his abilities as a passer. Very patient as he waits for his receiver's break.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Ian has a good sense of the pressure around him, able to step up or side step away from traffic. Not easily able to be taken down.
DECISION MAKING:
Does a nice job working through his progressions as he locates his best option receiver.
TOUCH:
Good blend of throwing variations. Able to adjust the velocity of his throws, from quick hitters to soft toss fades.
