SIZE:
Jaylon has very good size for a 2023 Dual Threat QB at 6’1” 179 lbs. He sits in the pocket with a tall platform, able to survey the entire field. Throws the ball with an over the top delivery, giving his throws added height.
ACCURACY:
Able to hit his receivers in stride on the deep ball, just over the defender’s reach. Throws made in the short and intermediate range include a very catchable ball, allowing for the receiver to make a play on it. Good anticipation of receivers routes. Can work to avoid tight coverage situations.
ARM STRENGTH:
He shows good range on his throws, able to get the ball in any area. Solid vertical passing game, able to extend the field. Can work to tighten up on the trajectory of his throws at longer distances.
RELEASE:
Jaylon throws with a high release point and three quarter arm motion. Able to get the ball out quickly with good accuracy. An over the top extension adding height to his throws downfield.
THROW ON RUN:
He’s a very athletic QB who shows good mobility and quickness as he works to the outside. Does a nice job lining up with his receivers, shows good forward momentum upon his release.
FOOTWORK:
A long stride running QB with lower body strength. This is an area he has much potential, for a QB of his size. If he can put it all together, he could be unstoppable on the run, with strength and speed.
POISE:
Does a nice job picking up on defensive pressure, either stepping up or moving laterally.
POCKET PRESENCE:
He works in and out of the pocket with good agility, creating added space for himself.
DECISION MAKING:
Does a nice job locating his primary targets. Will continue to work on his progressions with more game experience at the high school level.
TOUCH:
Jaylon does a nice job adjusting the angles and velocity of his throws, creating a softer release. Would like to see a tighter trajectory at long range.
