SIZE
Joseph has good size for a 2023 Pro Style QB at 6’1” 175 lbs. He's an athletic QB who displays good speed and quickness on the run. Throws with a high release point allowing for the ball to gain added height upon release. Will be able to add bulk to his frame over the next few years.
ACCURACY:
His throws are in-line with his receivers, with tight spiral and rotation. Good ball placement. Loses a bit of accuracy while on the run.
ARM STRENGTH
Very good arm strength, able to reach all areas of the field with high velocity. Able to squeeze the ball in tight areas of space, while extending the field with long range passes.
RELEASE:
His throws are made with an over the top, fully extended arm motion. High release point, allowing for added height to his throws. When given time and space, his throwing mechanics are sound.
THROW ON RUN
This is where Joseph displays his abilities as a QB. He shows very good quickness and speed getting to the outside, serving as a threat, able to go in each direction, pass or run. Solid body rotation and squares up nicely with target.
FOOTWORK:
Very good footwork within the backfield, able to move laterally in either direction. He’s very active in the pocket and shows good speed and quickness out in the open field.
POISE:
Good control of the offense, with strong ability to lead his unit downfield. He’s very focused while executing the play fully. Controls the pace of the game with his play.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very comfortable within the pocket, able to stand tall in the pocket while he surveys the field or take it to the outside. He does a great job reading the defense while on the go.
DECISION MAKING:
This is an area Joseph will continue to perfect over time. He a quick thinker while on the go. Sometimes throws the ball into tight coverage.
TOUCH
Shows very good trajectory on his deep passes with just enough air underneath the ball. He can work to improve on passes within the short and intermediate range, adding a softer touch on the ball when needed.
