SIZE:
Marquies has good size for a 2024 Dual Threat QB at 5’8” 187 lbs. He has the heart of a lion, a tough competitor who never gives up. His entire game is all about speed, from the moment he gets out the box, to his roll outs, to his delivery. Leaving the defense very little time to react.
ACCURACY:
When given the time and space around him, Marquies is very accurate. He works well within the pocket, able to survey the entire field. A quick hitting QB who gets to ball to his receivers in a hurry.
ARM STRENGTH:
He’s a strong throwing QB with a quick release, able to make all of the throws required of him. Displaying throws made of high velocity within the secondary. Solid vertical game, able to extend the field.
RELEASE:
Throws with very high release point. An over the top delivery with a fully extended arm motion. Solid footwork prior to set up of delivery.
THROW ON RUN:
This is where Marquies excels, while on the go. Not many QB’s get outside the box faster. Showing excellent athletic ability as he seek out potential targets.
FOOTWORK:
He shows excellent speed and quickness and he works his way around the pocket. Well balanced stride on his dropbacks. Excellent speed at a 4.54/40, able to create separation from traffic.
POISE:
Very versatile, able to do just about anything on the field. Not afraid to take chances downfield, especially in one-on-one situations.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Another area of excellence. Good feel of the traffic around him, able to create additional space for himself. Does a nice job picking up on big play opportunities downfield.
DECISION MAKING:
Knows no other way than fast. An intelligent QB who thrives on getting the ball out there in a hurry. Very decisive with his delivery. He does a nice job seeking out his primary target when open.
TOUCH:
Tight trajectory on deeper routes. Does a nice job easing off velocity on fade routes for a softer touch.
